A listening ministry of care seeking to heal hearts and energize communities through listening. Visit and bring Communion to those in our community experiencing illness, recovering from surgery, homebound, or are undergoing life transitions. BeFrienders must complete Essential 3 (E3) Requirements before serving.

Grief Coalition
Churches in the Bloomington-Richfield area work together to provide free support and education for adults who are grieving the death of a loved one. You can start any series at any time. There is no commitment to attendance and no cost.
When: Thursdays, 4:30 – 6 p.m.
Where: Rotates between churches in the Bloomington-Richfield area. Find the current schedule at: brgriefcoalition.com

- Education Presentation (4:30‑5 p.m.): Understanding the grief process and the many emotions involved in working through one's grief makes the journey less frightening. Guest speakers share their own experiences and professional knowledge of grief and loss.
- Support (5‑6 p.m.): Small groups will be formed where participants can share feelings and concerns with others working through the grief process.

Medical Equipment Lending Library
Our faith community provides medical equipment such as walkers, wheelchairs, grab bars, crutches, canes, commodes, and toilet risers, etc. to those who are recovering from an injury or surgery, have experienced a fall or changes in mobility. We have a limited supply, and requests often need to be delivered and fitted for the person requesting them.

Thursday Mass/Rosary
Saint Bonaventure provides Mass or praying the Rosary on alternating weeks. Volunteers escort residents to and from their rooms.
When: Mass: 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, 9:45 a.m.
Rosary: When: 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, 9:45 a.m.

Rotating teams escort residents to and from their rooms for Sunday Communion Service. One Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) will stay at Martin Luther Care Center, and another will go to Meadow Woods Assisted Living and lead the Communion Service.
When: Communion Service Sundays, 9:30 a.m.
Where: Martin Luther Care Center and Meadow Woods Assisted Living

A ministry of intercession, we pray to help and encourage those in need of support and facing challenges such as surgery, disease, a crisis in the family, loss of employment, accident, death, or even on behalf of a friend in need. Anyone may request prayer at any time.

Share your gifts of sewing, knitting, or crocheting through our prayer shawl ministry. Prayer shawls are given to those experiencing illness, grief/loss, and life transitions as a way of extending support from their church family.
