Community Leadership

At Saint Bonaventure, trustees, councils and committees come together to guide our programs, projects and events. These groups are made up of volunteers and staff who have expertise in a particular area.

Board of Directors
The Archbishop, Vicar General, pastor, and two trustees make up the parish corporate Board of Directors.

Trustees
Parish Trustees provide financial, administrative, and pastoral advice to the pastor while representing the broad interest of our entire parish community. The pastor recommends two trustees, and the Archbishop appoints them for two-year terms.

Parish Pastoral Council (PPC)
An advisory body of parishioners established to consult with the pastor and recommend the direction of the parish in keeping with our parish mission to Love God - Love Others - Make Disciples. Our PPC has nine members serving staggered three-year terms. Members are selected annually and appointed by the pastor in consultation with the council. PPC Members must complete and maintain Essential 3 (E3) Requirements for Safe Environment.
Pastoral Council

Finance Council
Parishioners with strong financial knowledge and background serve as a financial advisory board to the pastor. The Finance Council meets bi-monthly to plan and oversee the budget, advise on revenue and expenditures, and monitor financial and security controls. Finance Council Members must complete and maintain Essential 3 (E3) Requirements for Safe Environment.

Committees
  • Buildings & Grounds Committee - Members help plan and coordinate capital improvements, oversee maintenance of our parish facilities and grounds. Members of the committee and volunteers work to keep up our beautiful grounds and complete special projects throughout the year.
  • Liturgy Committee - Leaders of each liturgical ministry work together as a team to provide the parish with meaningful, well-planned liturgies.
  • Social Justice Committee - Our community outreach ministry addresses the unique needs of Bloomington. We promote, support, and are involved
in activities that serve the poor, protect life, and are earth-friendly in accordance with Catholic Social Teaching. This committee determines the charities to donate the annual garage sale profits.
