Founded by the Franciscans, our parish grounds reflect the love of nature St. Francis exemplified with intentionally cultivated green space and gardens on our beautiful 17 acres of land.
Buildings & Grounds Committee
Members help plan and coordinate capital improvements, oversee maintenance of our parish facilities and grounds. Members of the committee and volunteers work to keep up our beautiful grounds and complete special projects throughout the year. When: September-June, project dates and times vary |
Cherub Memorial Garden
The Cherub Memorial Garden, located adjacent to the north parking lot of the church, is a welcoming place for ALL to come to pray, rest and enjoy the beauty of the flowering plants and shrubs throughout the changing seasons! In support of Saint Bonaventure families who have lost a child in early pregnancy, stillbirth, SIDS, or infancy, we invite members of our community who have lost a baby in early pregnancy, stillbirth, newborn death or SIDS to put a solar light and to plant a surrounding 12”-15” ring of annual flowers in honor of their loved one. Participant registrations and plantings take place in May, the week preceding the garden blessing service on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Volunteers maintain the garden throughout the growing season (May-October). Parish Library
Our Library is available to all members of our parish and community and has more than 2,000 books for all ages. The library provides material which increases the knowledge of our Faith and deepens our relationship with Jesus Christ. When: Anytime Where: 2nd floor of the church on the South Side |
Pew Rack Volunteers
Teams restock the pew racks with welcome cards, pew art, and special collection envelopes on a rotating basis. There are four teams with three people to a team. Volunteers set their own schedule and are responsible for one section of the church every four weeks. It typically takes one hour for one person to do a section.
