Music at Mass
Cantor
Provide musical leadership at Mass, usually singing with one or two other cantors. Cantors are men and women who can sing well, lead assembly in song and are over the age of 13. This opportunity requires an audition and regular rehearsal attendance.
When: 4:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. weekend Masses and special liturgies
Rehearsal: Tuesday the week before you are scheduled to sing, 6:30 p.m. (prior to Choir rehearsal, 7-9 p.m.)

Provide contemporary and upbeat music at Mass, includes singers, piano, guitar, bass, synthesizer, and percussion. Singers and instrumentalists should be over the age of 13 and have intermediate to excellent skills. This opportunity requires an audition and regular rehearsal attendance.
When: 10 a.m. Mass, once or twice a month
Rehearsal: Tuesday the week before you are scheduled to sing, 7-9 p.m.

Accompanying instruments of organ, piano, or guitar to help lead music at worship. Orchestral instruments to play as needed. Percussionists must be able to improvise. Instrumentalists should have at least intermediate skills and be able to attend some rehearsals.

When: 8 a.m. Mass every 3 weeks
Rehearsal: Wednesday the week before you are scheduled to sing, 7-9 p.m.

Provide musical leadership for funerals. Singers warm-up and review the music 30 minutes before the Funeral Mass. Music reading skills are not required.
When: Funerals, most are an 11 a.m. weekday Mass or Service
Rehearsal: 10:30 a.m. (or 30 minutes before) the Funeral Mass or Service
