CARES Act Changes for 2020

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)
In 2020, we have continued to receive IRA distributions. In 2020 Required Minimum Distributions were not required, but many parishioners have still chosen to make a distribution. Currently, 10% of our Sunday Giving comes from IRAs. Discuss with your financial advisor the tax advantages of giving a gift in this manner.

Stock Contributions
Appreciated stock is a great way to contribute AND perhaps maximize your tax benefit. You may eliminate substantial taxes on capital gains realized between the date you purchased the stock and the date of contribution.
