Friends, it is with great sadness that I must tell you that Fr. Edmund Goldbach, former pastor of Saint Bonaventure-Bloomington and friar-priest in residence, died this afternoon at Fairview-Southdale. Ed was 82. Early this morning, Ed developed abdominal pain and EMS transported him to Fairview.  He died at peace while I was holding his hand.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Bonaventure in the coming days. Ed will then be interned at our Provincialate at Mt. St. Francis, IN. I will update you with arrangements as they become available.

Please pray for Fr Ed, his family, the friars, and all those he touched with his ministry and life as a friar.

Yours in Christ,
Fr. Matthew Malek, OFM Conv.
