Musical Theatre With The Heaven Help Us Players
We found a fun way to bring your entertainment talent to life for the church. The Heaven Help Us Players is a community theatre group in Bloomington, MN created to have high quality theatre opportunities available to all with quality shows for a reasonable price.
All ages come together for collaborative productions with Nativity of Mary parish. Singers, dancers, actors, technicians, directors, tailors, builders, and more make up The Heaven Help Us Players. Cast and crew ranging in age from 6 to 80 gather together to share their talents and growing in love and appreciation for one another as we also grow in appreciation of God’s gifts of love and life.
Our next Musical Theatre Event: Meshuggah-Nuns! by Dan Goggin
The story of the Little Sisters of Hoboken continues as we find them on a cruise ship. Due to the illness of the entertainment cast of the ship, Reverend Mother, Sister Hubert, Sister Robert Anne, and Sister Amnesia (aka Sister Mary Paul) and the rest of the nuns are asked to work with Howard, the actor who would have played Tevye in the planned production of "Fiddler on the Roof." Our nuns come to the rescue putting together fun songs with a nautical theme!
Our usual players from Heaven Help Us Players are returning: Mary Jo Anderson as Reverend Mother, SIster Mary Regina, Christine Bittner as SIster Hubert, Pat Treseler as Sister Robert Anne, Lisa Jones-Kennedy as Sister Amnesia, the novices, Sarah Mueller as Sister Mary Leo, Shelley (Murphy) Padden as Sister Luke, and Emily Fourniea as Sister Brendan, and our venerable three-some seated in the Queen's box, Michelle Theis as Sister Wilhelm, Michelle Fillbrandt as Sister Dementia, and introducing Ann Shields as Sister Julia, Child of God. Howard (the actor who would have played Tevye) will be played by Phil Price, last summer's lead character in "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown."
The show will run from February 16th to 19th this year. Thursday is the show only at 7:00pm. Friday and Saturday feature a catered Italian dinner at 6:30pm followed by our show at 7:15pm, and Sunday's matinee, show only, will be offered at 3:00pm. Tickets go on sale January 21/22 after all Masses in through the parish offices at St. Bonaventure at 952-854-4733 and Nativity of Mary Parish at 952-881-8671. Call for Will Call tickets. Dinner reservations must be made by Monday, February 13th. Tickets may be purchased directly at the parish offices.
